Server rules
The short version. The full rules are on our Discord, and they are the ones that count.
Combat and zones
- PvE zones: no killing players. Not by any method, including indirect or "creative" kills. Fights happen inside the marked PvP zones. See the map.
- Combat logging. You must wait 10 minutes to log out after dealing or taking player damage.
- Zone strafing. Do not abuse PvP or safe zone borders to escape combat or gain a tactical advantage.
Raiding and the Purge
- Raiding is disabled. A base is any player-built structure, even an open gate or a single wall.
- Prohibited. Entering a compound uninvited, stealing from, or dismantling any player-built structure is raiding and will result in a ban.
- Decayed bases. You may only loot if zero player-built parts remain (floating storage). You must record video proof of the decay before looting.
- Claiming a flag. You may only claim an unclaimed flag if all player-built parts have despawned.
- The Purge (before a wipe only) is the exception. It is always announced on Discord first.
- PvP. The entire map, except the safe zones, becomes a PvP and raid zone.
- Fair access. Bases must be raidable. No blocking entrances with tents or storage, and no "window-only" access.
Looting in PvE zones
- Unconscious players. Looting an unconscious player is strictly prohibited. Opening their inventory, taking items or "stripping" them while they are down is treated as griefing.
- Dead players. You may only loot a body once the player has fully expired and reached the "Dead" state naturally.
- Loot-cycling. Moving items off an unconscious player onto the ground, intending to pick them up later, breaks this rule too.
Building
- Illegal locations. Don't build on or block roads, bridges, water, military spawns, heli crashes, airdrops or public utilities such as hospitals and police stations.
- Tents. Every player starts out life with a tent. Tents can be placed anywhere, even inside PvP zones or someone else's territory. A tent is personal property and should be protected with a codelock. It can only be legally raided during the Purge, or if it is placed in a PvP zone.
- Bases. Max 1 pre-fab house per territory. Beyond that, the sky's the limit until a base layout interferes with how the server runs. At that point we'll work with the group to bring it below the level that causes problems.
- Integrity. No floating bases or sky bridges. Watchtowers must stay within the base limits. Max 1 level of foundation. Keep it realistic-ish.
Vehicles
- Unlocked and unattended. A vehicle left unlocked and unattended on the map, outside a safe zone or base, may be taken by other players. If a player gets a vehicle key through PvP, they can take that vehicle even if it is parked in a PvE zone.
- Player-built structures are off limits. A vehicle parked on a player-built structure (BBP) must not be taken. Taking one counts as raiding.
- Communal vehicles. Bicycles, vanilla boats (even reskins) and ATVs are scattered across the map and belong to everyone. They can't be parked in a garage, and they despawn much sooner than other vehicles. That way everyone gets a chance at transport without having to be wealthy. Bicycles should always spawn in a usable condition. ATVs and boats will most likely need at least a spark plug to get going.
How to protect your vehicle
- Do not carry vehicle keys into PvP.
- Always lock your vehicle when you are not using it.
- Use your virtual garage. There are public garages scattered across the map, and most car garages are a quick walk from a boat garage, so you can explore the island without rushing back to base when your play time is over. Personal base garages can store vehicles with items inside.
Griefing and conduct
- Do not grief vehicles. Be reasonable and use common sense. A vehicle counts as unattended if no other player is present within visible range.
Gameplay and fair play
- No exploiting. No hacking, glitching, bug abuse or ban evading.
- No safe zone crimes. Stealing, scamming or killing in safe zones is prohibited.
- Group limit: 3 players. A group is anyone sharing a base, territory or resources.
